SHIPPING WITHIN THE USA

Tortilla shipping is a flat $11.99 anywhere in the United States, with no minimum order. Because tortillas are perishable, we ship Monday through Wednesday only. The cutoff for same week shipping is Tuesday at 12:00 PM Pacific Time, and orders placed after that ship the following week rather than sitting on a lonely, hot loading dock over a weekend.

Tortilla orders travel by 2-Day Shipping via FedEx or UPS, so most arrive within two business days of the day they ship. Because we ship these via FedEx or UPS, we can’t ship to Post Office boxes. Only USPS can deliver to those.

A NOTE ON SHIPPING FRESH TORTILLAS

Every order is packed with ice packs. It is normal for them to arrive thawed and for the tortillas to be at or near room temperature. (The thawed ice packs did their job in keeping your tortillas cool on their journey. Please take a moment to thank them for their service prior to disposing of them.) They are still perfectly safe to eat. Just refrigerate or freeze them when they arrive.

PREPARATION:

PREPARATION

Here is how to get the most out of your COYOTAS tortillas.

1. THAW. If they are frozen, thaw them in the refrigerator. That keeps the texture and flavor intact.

2. WARM. Use a preheated dry skillet, a cast iron comal, a stovetop burner, a microwave, or an oven. At the right temperature they need only a few seconds on each side. Warming is what makes them pliable, so do not skip it.

3. FILL. Tacos, quesadillas, wraps, taquitos, or anything else you have in mind. We like to pile the warm ones into a tortilla warmer or wrap them in a clean kitchen towel to keep them soft until we're ready to fill them.

Because we do not use chemical preservatives, gums, or emulsifiers, these behave like fresh tortillas rather than shelf stable ones. Warm them on a preheated skillet and keep them covered after warming. For the tortillas that you do not heat and serve, just reseal in the zipper pouch and put back in the refrigerator or freezer until next time.

STORAGE:

STORAGE

If you are going to eat them in the next week or so, keep them in the refrigerator. If you are going to eat them a little at a time, keep them in the freezer. They thaw easily and won’t stick together.

We do not use chemical preservatives at all, so cold storage is what keeps them fresh. Refrigerated, they keep for up to 15 days. Frozen, up to 3 months.

Tortillas sometimes arrive at your doorstep warm, especially in summer. Rest assured, they are still safe to eat. Just refrigerate or freeze them upon arrival. If you are traveling with them, pack them in a cooler.

California Residents: Prop 65

PROP 65: Understanding Prop 65 and COYOTAS Organic Cassava Tortillas

At COYOTAS our priority is crafting exceptional organic cassava tortillas that meet the highest standards of quality and purity. We want to ensure that our customers are well-informed about California's Proposition 65, or "Prop 65," which mandates that businesses provide warnings about potential exposure to specific chemicals commonly present in various products.

Our unwavering commitment to honesty and integrity drives us to share all aspects of our products with you. While our organic cassava tortillas are thoughtfully crafted with the best ingredients, we want to acknowledge that they might contain trace amounts of substances falling under Prop 65.

It's important to note that cassava roots draw minerals and nutrients from the soil, contributing to their natural growth. As a result, the presence of minimal levels of lead is a natural occurrence in cassava and many other crops, even when they're grown in organic soils. These levels are often beyond our control due to the plant's interaction with its environment.

Rest assured, we rigorously test our tortillas for compliance and safety, ensuring they surpass industry standards. The Prop 65 warnings on our packaging reflect our dedication to full transparency rather than indicating any compromise in quality or safety.

By choosing COYOTAS, you're opting for the finest organic cassava tortillas while gaining insights into every facet of our products. Should you have questions regarding Prop 65 or any other aspect of our products, please reach out to us at hola@eatcoyotas.com

Thank you for being part of our journey toward health, quality, and transparency.
